Shoppers Haul and Point Redemption

WOOOOOO! I love when I can redeem my Shopper’s Optimum Points! It’s like Christmas came early!! My basket was a little more full than usual last night, so I was a little nervous when I approached the cash, but WOWZA my bill only came to $8, redeeming $60 worth of Optimum Points. SCORE!!! (now do you realize why I love this card so much?!)

So, what did I buy you may ask? Several of my purchases were based on blog reviews, some based on personal desire, and some were spur of the moment ‘hey that looks cool’ kinda buys.

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple. I love Revlon’s lip butters. Its the perfect cross between lipstick and moisturizing lip chap. Other tinted lip balms don’t give anywhere near the amount of colour coverage as Revlon Lip Butters. Candy Apple is only my second Lip Butter purchase, I already have Sugar Plum, but I know that more are to come.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Bordeaux. I really like wearing darker lipsticks when I’m going out for a night, and a few months ago I completely fell in love with the Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Suede  in the colour Backstage. Perfect coverage and longlasting stay. But I lost and repurchased the lipstick twice. Having lost it a third time I’ve realized it’s not meant to be, at $15 a piece I’m not risking another loss. This colour of the Rimmel Lipstick is a complete match and was on sale for only $5.99. BONUS. Although it’s not a long-lasting stain, I’ll live with re-applying if it means a $10 difference.

Covergirl Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Rose Twist. I’ve had my eye on the Clinique Chubby Sticks for awhile, not willing to pay $25 for a lip crayon. And I’ve also been looking at the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, but my sister snagged the last one on the shelf. So I went with the Covergirl equivalent, also on sale. The colour is a soft glossy and not as sticky as a lip gloss. It’s a natural colour, great for everyday wear. I’m looking forward to using this one all summer.

Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Melted Caramel Flame. This was one of those purchases that randomly caught my eye in the aisle. It’s a chubby pencil meant for all-over eye colour. Super shimmery and has a finish similar to the Maybelline Colour Tattoos yet not as long-lasting. The colour is a shimmery bronze. I really like the shiny finish of the Colour Tattoos so I’m excited to give this a try.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation is something I’ve read a lot about on other blogs. Revlon is by far my favourite drug store brand, but oddly I’ve never tried a single one of their foundations before. I’m looking for a ‘barely there’ type of foundation for the summer, so I already knew that this was the one to try. I’m really looking forward to this one.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent. I have a few finishing powders, but none have been able to handle the shine that my face has after a long day of work. I work with food a lot and it’s not a pleasant feeling in the aftermath. So I thought I’d give this one a try. I’ve heard a lot about it, and hopefully the name is true and my face will ‘stay matte’ throughout the day.

and finally Quo Lush’N’Long Eyelash Curler. Truthfully I’ve never used an eyelash curler before, the idea kinda scares me. But I thought I’d give this a try. I was sold on the cute pink colour of this curler, as well as it’s awesome $5.99 price in comparison to the other brands. I’ll have to give it a try and let you know how it goes.

So that’s it. $67 worth of products (+ a tube of toothpaste) that I managed to pay only $8 for!! This is why I love Shoppers so much and why I encourage everyone to collect Optimum Points! SO happy shopping lovelies!! Start collecting those points!

(PS. I’ve decided to stop writing these posts late at night when I’m in my pj’s so that I can get a decent photo of myself in here. I might be an ogre for all you know!…..patience. It’s coming)
