Baby, It’s (Finally) Cold Outside!

As a true Canadian, I look forward to winter ever year; the snow, the cold, the quiet. Each and every year so many of us wait on bated breath for the first snowfall and the colder weather. It gives us the chance to break out a new season of fashion trends – the bundled up winter warmth kind of look. But don’t get caught up in the fashion myth my friends – you can still be fashionable in the winter.

For the first time in many many years we had an extremely warm December in the Toronto area. Temperatures of about 12 degrees Celsius met us for Christmas and I managed to wear the same coat from about the end of October to the last week of December. But the temperatures finally dropped for the New Year and we were gifted with a beautiful snowfall. Like I said, the first of the year is always anticipated. Finally cold enough for me to break out my new The North Face Arctic Parka in Forest Night Green, along with my ever-trusty Ugg Australia Adirondack II Boot in Obsidian. I’m ready for anything with this duo, both withstanding temperatures past -20 degrees. And super comfortable.

Also, like a true Canadian, I’ll be over this weather and complaining about winter very quickly. It’s always nice when the seasons change, but the Canadian winters last six months of the year. Waking up earlier to scrape ice off my car windows, seeing daylight for only about 8 hours a day. But as I’m prepared for any weather this year and can feel fashionable even in the lowest temperatures, I think this year will be a good one.

How do you prepare for the cold winter?
