Top 5 – February

DSC_0339

February was a pretty makeup-less month. The blah’s really caught up with me and I fully engaged in the Canadian winter hermit mode; you know, when it gets to the point that you just can’t handle the sun-less days and freezing temperatures. Yeah, that was my February. So as I sit down today to take a look at my Top 5 of February I draw a blank….give me a moment to go scrounge up a few things I actually used this month.

I promise to you that I already have a full plan for the month of March; complete with makeup looks, reviews, and a jollier, happier Coleen in the sun! But looking back at February it was extremely uneventful. Early mornings and long days at work, then heading straight home to sleep off some sort of illness I’ve picked up. I haven’t even been heading to the gym much. So for days like that I certainly don’t want to be worried about styling my hair. But to tame my natural frizz I’ve been using the Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray. It’s great for just giving your hair a little something. My natural curls don’t really need much help, but it tames the extra that seems to arise from an air dry. It’s quite a bit saltier than a lot of other beach sprays I’ve used in the past, so I’m wondering if it’s actually bad for my hair? Thoughts?

I guess if I were to pick out some makeup items from this month it would simply be concealer. Like I said it’s been early mornings, long days, and sickness. So I need a little help covering those dark circles. You can see I’ve recently gotten into colour correcting for those issues, but really nothing beats the NARS Creamy Concealer for concealing needs. This little sample sized tube has done me well, the replacement is already ordered. For other makeup needs I’ve been loving a new and unsuspecting brush. It’s the Real Techniques Mini Face Brush that came in a mini travel set that was gifted to me. I have discovered the wonders it does for blending my foundation, it’s tiny handle easy for precision and it’s looser bristles making for a nicer coverage.

And, to continue combating the winter weather, my face masks this month have also been from a mini travel pack. It’s the Origin’s Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay and the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst. I picked these up in a pack a few weekends ago when I was away and just needed some extra help with my dry and damaged skin. I can’t wait for this cold weather to leave!

What have you been loving this month? Are you in as “blah” a mood as me?
