If you have dreams of travelling Europe, you’re not alone. Europe is so much bigger than England and France though. There’s Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and so many more places that you can explore. But you want to make sure you don’t go to Europe and waste your time with sights that do anything less than WOW you! With that in mind, here are the most incredible things that you don’t want to miss!
Charles Bridge, Prague, The Czech Republic
The Charles Bridge is a stunning historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river. At night the bridge lights up with vintage looking lanterns and has a magical atmosphere. You can also find Baroque statues in places along the bridge, and people say that if you rub them they bring good luck. They are also supposed to guarantee your return to Prague.
Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain
This UNESCO world heritage site is a gorgeous piece of architecture and an amazing landmark to see here. The mix of styles and intricate carvings are evident and awe inspiring. Again, this is something that looks stunning when lit up at night. It’ll be like nothing you’ve ever seen before!
The Grand Canal, Venice, Italy
The Grand Canal is connected to the smaller canals in Venice, at 5 metres depth and more than 2 miles long. You can see so many amazing buildings and feel like you’re in a beautiful piece of artwork as you’re gently paddled down the canal in a gondola. You can book onto a tour or a boat, however, they can be expensive. It’s still just as beautiful if you hop on a much cheaper water taxi. Sure, the Eiffel Tower can be romantic, but you haven’t experienced true romance until you’ve been on a gondola!
Ars Electronica Centre, Linz, Austria
This museum boldly calls itself the ‘Museum of the Future.’ In this day and age, really? Well, yeah. A centre for electronic arts, you can experience true virtual reality here. It even looks cool from the outside.
The Blue Lagoon, Reykjanes Peninsula, Southwestern Iceland
This is Iceland’s most loved geothermal spa. The bright blue water looks absolutely surreal against the black lava and rubble. Swimming in this magical lagoon is even said to cure skin disorders! Just don’t be disappointed when you realise that it’s man made, and ridiculously expensive. It’s still worth one trip if you’re in the area!
Oia, Santorini, Greece
Santorini is on almost everybody’s bucket list these days, and can you blame them? This stunning Greek village is unlike any other. It’s quiet here, and the whitewashed buildings that light up on the hills at night time look enchanting. The sunset is a sight to behold too!
Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia
This UNESCO world heritage site is Croatia’s most popular attraction. The national park covers 300 square kilometres, while the beautiful lakes join over 8 kilometres, all joined by waterfalls. You’ll feel like you’re in a fairytale or something.
What do you think of these incredible sights in Europe? Are you going to visit? Just don’t forget the essentials, like your camera, documents from http://etias.com, and passport.
