When you are the chief bridesmaid, best friend and confidant of a soon to be bride, you are the person responsible for the success – or not – of a bachelorette party. It’s one of the toughest things to organise and it can get stressful, especially when you are trying to coordinate a large group of excitable ladies who come from different areas!

There is a lot of communication and organizing involved with a bachelorette party and when you have a bride who has a pretty busy schedule already, you need to be on the top of your game to start effective party planning. There aren’t any hard and fast rules when it comes to throwing a perfect party, but there are certain things you should follow so that you can get it going without a hitch, and we’ve got the perfect guide for you here:

  1. Timing. As always, timing is everything, but for a wedding it’s vital. You need to be able to time the party so it’s at least a month before the wedding, so that there are no hungover bridesmaids on the day. You also need to give yourself time to organize it all, especially if you are going to an event like a concert or something a little raunchier, like Your party needs to be timed perfectly for entertainment like those, so get researching.
  2. Guest List. Obviously, a bachelorette party is mainly a ladies-only event, but you need to ask the bride-to-be who she would like to have. Knowing this will help you immensely and avoid any awkward invitations!
  3. For Her. This party should never be looked at as something to appease the guests. The bachelorette party is all about the bride-to-be, so you should choose activities she would enjoy. Despite the myths, no bachelorette likes to be humiliated by her friends, so instead you should pamper her!
  4. Save The Date. Like with a wedding, you need to prepare all those who are coming to the party. Send a date card to remind everyone to book the time off and keep the communication going!
  5. Gifts. Okay, so the wedding is about the gifts not the bachelorette party. Make it clear to the guests and the bride-to-be that the etiquette here is to give her a good time, not a good bath set.
  6. Budget. When it comes to the price of everything you want to do, you should confer with the guests. The bride does not pay for anything for her own bachelorette so make sure you absorb her costs when you are negotiating a price among you. Don’t go over what you all agree if you can help it, everyone needs to be on the same page.

Above all, the biggest rule you could possibly abide by is to have fun and ensure the bride-to-be is as well. It’s her day and you are there to show her a good time before she gets hitched and starts her next chapter. See her into married life in a wonderful way and create amazing memories.
