It’s pretty fair to say that you’re probably going to remember your wedding day for the rest of your life. After all, it’s the day that you and the person you love most in the world stand before all of your friends and loved ones and promise to be together forever. Of course, for those friends and loved ones, it could well just be another of a dozen weddings that they’ve been to that years. There’s a certain point in your life where it can feel like you’re going to a wedding every weekend! Because of that, you have to work a little bit harder to make your wedding stand out and have an impact on your guests. Here are a few ideas that you might want to use to make your big day a day to remember.

Embrace the unexpected

Most people go to weddings with a pretty good idea of how things are going to go. After the ceremony, the reception is going to involve toasts, speeches, cutting the cake, food, and dancing. And sure, these things are all great and can make any wedding seriously fun, but why not try something a little bit different? Plenty of people like to do something a bit fun or unusual with their first dance. Or perhaps you could make the food a little more interesting with something like a wedding cheese cake? Surprising your guests if one of the very best ways to make sure that your wedding sticks in their mind for as long as possible.

Pick a theme

One of the best ways to make your wedding day stand out is to pick a theme for it. Now, it’s easy to go too far with this. You don’t want to end up with a wedding that feels more like a novelty but finding a theme that’s personal to you, and your partner can make a big difference and make your wedding that much more spectacular. Maybe it’s themed around a historical era that you both love like the 1920s or perhaps around a place that you both share some wonderful memories of.

Mementos

If you want your wedding to stick in your guest’s minds then why not send them away with something to remember it by. Things like handwritten invitations are fantastic because they’re completely personal, or maybe you could take the standard party gift bag idea and give it an extra touch of class. That way your guests have something to walk away with that they can keep and use to always remember what a wonderful day they had when you and your partner promised to spend the rest of your lives together.

Of course, you don’t want to end up letting your wedding ideas get so extreme that they overshadow what the day is supposed to be about: you and your partner promising to love and cherish each other forever. Don’t let your attempts to wow your guests stand in the way of making it the perfect day for the both of you!
