For most brides-to-be, the thought of turning into a Bridezilla is enough to make them turn pale. No one wants to be known as a control freak, especially when it comes to planning a wedding. There is an easy way to make sure you can shake off all the usual uptightness that often comes with organizing a wedding – you just need to pass around some responsibilities and planning tasks to your nearest and dearest.
Here are some great ideas how you can get others involved in the planning of your wedding.
Your Dad
Ok, so your Dad should be busy writing his speech for the reception, but there should also be time for him to squeeze in some other important tasks. It’s a good idea to send him off with your partner and his bestman when they go shopping for suits. As your Dad will no doubt be a lot more wiser, he will have plenty of experience of buying suits and should be able to recommend a good tailor. It’s might also be necessary for your Dad to give his opinion on the suits that the groom and bestman pull out.
Your Mom
Your Mom will be a great help in the run-up to your big day. Firstly, she should be on hand when you are looking for the perfect dress. Another great idea is to ask her for her address book. She will have all of your relative’s addresses so that you don’t forget to send someone an invite. Plus, she’ll be able to tell you about any great-aunts who you haven’t seen for a few years but should be invited. Once you’ve got the guest list sorted, it’s a nice idea to put your heads together and work on the seating plan.
Your Siblings
If your siblings want to help you during your planning, you can ask them for help with booking a photographer and evening entertainment. Ideally, they should make a short list of local photographers and wedding bands that you and your partner can then consider together. This saves you lots of time as you won’t have to spend hours on your computer researching photographers and bands in your local area.
Your Bridesmaids
I’m sure that all of your bridesmaids will be more than happy to help you plan your wedding too! Of course, they should go with you and your Mom to the bridal boutique when you are looking for a dress. I’m sure that they will have lots of opinions! But, more importantly, they can help keep you calmed and relaxed in the countdown to your wedding. Even if you have lots of help to plan the day, you might still get stressed. But your bridesmaids are the best people for knowing exactly how to keep you calm and level headed!
If you get everyone helping you out, then organizing your big day shouldn’t be too much hassle. You might even be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the whole build up!
