What Not to Do When Visiting NYC

Visiting New York City is a dream of many people today. They are attracted by the bright lights, amazing places to eat and drink, the hustle and bustle, parks, and many other attractions – but there are a few things you need to be aware of before you visit.

Here we’re going to talk about what not to do when you visit New York. Take a look and you’ll have the best possible time in the Big Apple!

Don’t Stand In The Middle Of The Sidewalk

Standing in the middle of the sidewalk is a sure fire way to get shoved out the way. You’re blocking people from getting to where they want to go. Marvel at the skyscrapers and other views somewhere where you’re not in the way!

Don’t Eat In A Restaurant That You Have Back Home

It can be tempting to stick to what you know, but New York is home to some of the best restaurants – some that you won’t get a chance to visit again if you’re not planning on going back to New York! Branch out a little.

Don’t Mistake Time’s Square For The True New York

Time’s Square is worth a visit, but only if you’re going to see a broadway show. The fact is, this is only a small part of New York, and one visit is enough for a lifetime.

Don’t Stay In Accommodation Without Doing Your Research

Always do your research to make sure you’ve found accommodation that is right for you. For example, The LOOK Hotel, Red Hook, An Ascend Hotel Collection Member offers many facilities that could be suited to travellers, but you should always shop around before making up your mind.

Don’t Take A Cab If You’re In A Rush

As a rule, if you get in a cab, you’re going to get stuck in traffic. Plus, many drivers don’t even know where you want to go. Buy a metrocard instead and you’ll save money getting around on the subway.

Don’t Try Out A New Pair of Shoes

A new pair of shoes that could give you blisters and other problems is a huge risk to take when you want to enjoy New York. Wear a comfortable pair of shoes that you don’t mind walking a lot in. Shoes you know aren’t going to hurt you!

Don’t Feel Under Pressure To Do What Everybody Else Does

You might feel under pressure to see all of the main tourist attractions, but don’t if that’s not what you truly want to do. Only see the things you really want to see, and consider venturing off the beaten path.

Don’t Stay In Manhattan

You haven’t explored all of New York if you haven’t ventured out of Manhattan. Brooklyn and Queens are just two more of the boroughs you should visit in New York.

Avoid doing these things when you visit New York and you’ll have an incredible time! Oh, and don’t assume all New Yorkers are rude and unhelpful. Ask for directions if you need them!
