Review – NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret

Anyone who knows me well will know my deep and undying love for all NARS lip pencils. Whether the velvet matte, velvet gloss, or the satin pencils, NARS really brings it when it comes to perfect lip coverage and colour. So when my wonderful sister got my the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret for Christmas I squealed with joy! (I literally squealed…not an attractive moment).

The beautiful little box comes with five mini NARS lip pencils, two matte (Cruella and Iberico) and three satin (YuDescanso and Torres Del Paine). Although at first glance the colours may not all be for you, NARS lip pencils suit everyone, I swear! Torres Del Paine and Descanso are my-lips-but-better pencils with a subtle satin finish. Yu is a bold fuchsia pink that is completely opaque and has a great creamy satin finish. It may be bold but is still perfectly wearable for an everyday look. The mattes are definitely my favourite of the bunch: Iberico is a bright coral/orange/red shade that is exclusive to this 2014 holiday collection. It may not be coral season right now but I love wearing this fiery, feisty colour. And finally Cruella is my favourite of them all. A perfect matte deep crimson red.

The NARS lip pencils will make anyone’s lips look full and pretty much perfect. They’re little miracle pencils. No lip liner or primers necessary. The formula stays put for a long time and the matte pencils are not drying, nor do they tug on the lips when you apply them, unlike other mattes lipsticks. All in all the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret is beautiful perfection and I couldn’t love it more. I even love the little box and will definitely by displaying it atop my new vanity table! (yes new vanity table! You heard right. Details to come soon!)

Have you tried any of these shades? What do you think of the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret?

Review – Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm

I’ve been a big fan of Revlon for quite some time now. Especially their lip products. I’ve been reigning in the shopping and beauty spending lately, but last weekend I wandered into Shoppers and bought two more Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm’s to accompany the one I already had. And BOY was I impressed. As usual I just haphazardly picked two colours that I thought might be good and I can’t get over how much I love them. I’ve decided that I MUST go buy the rest of the collection asap.

The Colourburst Matte Balm’s are similar in packaging style to the Revlon lip stains and other lip pencils. They slide on very smoothly and just glossy enough to blend with your lips together before they take on their velvety matte appearance. I’m a big lover of matte lips and these certainly don’t disappoint. They aren’t too vibrant, but are the perfect amount of subtle colour for daily and for night. And they are so comfortable on your lips, hence the ‘balm’. They have an amazing formula of shea, coconut and mango butter. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of them!!!

Have you tried the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms? What did you think?
