The time has come again for me to rant and rave about the 5 products that got me through the month. September was a bit of whirlwind and flew past quicker than I cared for. But who can complain when the end of September means October is here! Birthday, Thanksgiving, scarfs, pumpkins! I love it all. But lets rewind to last month and take a look at what I’ve been loving.
The first is the Sleek Brow Kit which was specially delivered from Ireland by my wonderful sister. Looking quite similar to the ELF brow kit I didn’t really have high expectations, but this product is great quality, both the waxy filler as well as the brunette powder! My brows have been on fleek this month! I also decided to give the L’Oreal Blackbuster another go. When I first bought this product years ago I was sorely disappointed. It seemed to be all dried up and run out before I even got the chance to use it. But this time round I’m loving the product! Thick and thin lines with one simple swipe! Even cat-eye with the simplest of flicks. Loving it all.
Sticking in the amazing L’Oreal Infallible line I recently purchased and am OBSESSED with the Pro-Matte Foundation. The feel, the finish – I can’t explain my love of this foundation in a way for you to understand. You’d think I’d be used to these descriptions, but no….words have failed me. LOVE. Last but not least I picked three eyeshadows. Maybe quite similar, but all amazing shades and quality. They are the MAC Mystery, MAC Antiqued, and Stila Coco. I’ve been using these three non-stop and I will be bringing them all the way through October with me as well.
Bring on the cold weather, the Birthday celebrations, and the pumpkin pie!!! What have you loved this past month? What do you most look forward to with the coming of October?
Transitioning from a minimal daily work face to a non-existent unemployed face got me in a slump and it’s been almost a month since I’ve opened my makeup drawers and took the time to enjoy my products. But with life getting a little more normal, and job interviews popping up here and there, it was time I got into a routine for this seasons daily face.
I’ve continued to keep it pretty minimal. I start with Laura Mercier Lightweight Flawless Covereage Tinted Moisturizer for sheer, all over light coverage and pair it with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eye Concealer for all the dark spots. After a quick brush of the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder, I finish off the cheeks with Revlon’s Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched blended in with my finger tips. After filling in my brows with Soap & Glory’s Archery pencil, I use a few colours from the Sleek I-Divine Palette in Oh So Special; I’ve really been enjoying the pinks for this early-springtime. After a quick flick of the ever-present Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, I sweep on the mascara with Makeup Forever’s Smokey Extravagant Mascara. All finished off with a swipe of the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Descanso as I’m heading out the door!
So there you have it. The daily face, the travel with me current essentials, and the interview prep. What do you think of my current face? What have you been sticking with lately?
Want fabulous, every-day, simple eyeshadow at a low price? Of course you do! Everyone does. And that’s exactly what I found in the Sleek I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in Oh So Special! I may rant and rave about the NYX naturals, my other favourite everyday simple eyeshadow palette, but when this sleek and sexy palette landed in my lap I was sold! I’ve changed my ways and I’m hooked on Sleek.
The Oh So Special palette has a great assortment of colours. I didn’t pick the palette out for myself, but after looking at the other I-Divine palettes online I truly believe that this one is the best. You’ve got your subtle pinks and neutral undertone colours, as well as some darker mattes, slight sparkles, and some really harsh purples and blues to make you’re eyes pop! It’s the perfect palette for travelling and taking your makeup from day to night as quickly as possible. So simple. And the colours are some of the most easily applied and most pigmented of any other budget palette out there!
Of course the first things I did upon opening the package was toss the silly little eyeshadow applicators. I don’t understand how two pathetic sponges on the end of a stick are supposed to be the best for eyeshadow application. I prefer my MAC 217 brush. I’ll post an updated every day makeup routine soon, and you can see my love of the Sleek I-Divine Palette in action.
Unfortunately, having my palette brought over from Ireland, I’m not sure where these can be found in North America. Try Amazon? Or keep these on your shopping list for your next trip across the pond! Have you ever tried any Sleek products?
