The time has come again for me to rant and rave about the 5 products that got me through the month. September was a bit of whirlwind and flew past quicker than I cared for. But who can complain when the end of September means October is here! Birthday, Thanksgiving, scarfs, pumpkins! I love it all. But lets rewind to last month and take a look at what I’ve been loving.
The first is the Sleek Brow Kit which was specially delivered from Ireland by my wonderful sister. Looking quite similar to the ELF brow kit I didn’t really have high expectations, but this product is great quality, both the waxy filler as well as the brunette powder! My brows have been on fleek this month! I also decided to give the L’Oreal Blackbuster another go. When I first bought this product years ago I was sorely disappointed. It seemed to be all dried up and run out before I even got the chance to use it. But this time round I’m loving the product! Thick and thin lines with one simple swipe! Even cat-eye with the simplest of flicks. Loving it all.
Sticking in the amazing L’Oreal Infallible line I recently purchased and am OBSESSED with the Pro-Matte Foundation. The feel, the finish – I can’t explain my love of this foundation in a way for you to understand. You’d think I’d be used to these descriptions, but no….words have failed me. LOVE. Last but not least I picked three eyeshadows. Maybe quite similar, but all amazing shades and quality. They are the MAC Mystery, MAC Antiqued, and Stila Coco. I’ve been using these three non-stop and I will be bringing them all the way through October with me as well.
Bring on the cold weather, the Birthday celebrations, and the pumpkin pie!!! What have you loved this past month? What do you most look forward to with the coming of October?
I’ve found my ultimate daily lipstick – and I’m actually serious this time. The most perfect shade for every occasion that is so ME it’s unreal. And I didn’t even pick it out! It was given to me by a relative who didn’t like it after one use. Sigh…if only more things in like could work out that well.
It’s the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina and it’s absolutely fabulous! It applies quite wet, but nourishing, and dries really quickly to stay all day as a dry, matte, nourishing lip stain. I love the formula! Being a stain yet nourishing at the same time always seemed like an impossible feat to achieve. But Stila has done it! I don’t use a liner on a daily basis, but this liquid lipstick could probably use it. It has the slight habit of sliding out of the lines a little bit. But a liner to keep it in place makes it last all day. I’m not exaggerating…I’ve tested it. No applications required through eating and drinking!!
Patina is a deep primrose shade that is the perfect combination of plums and pinks. I’ve found that primrose-y plumy pinks are definitely my colour- looking much better on my skin tone than pinks, reds, or plums on their own. And luckily these are not hard to find since my drawers are overflowing with similar shades from various brands. But none have wow-ed me like Stila’s Patina. I see some repurchasing happening in the near future.
What is your favourite lipstick of all time?
The time has come again my friends…where does it go? It’s the end of another month and hopefully the beginning of a month full of good weather, shorter dresses and more exposed toesies. But for now, we’ll just focus on the five items that got me through the past month full of new challenges, long days, and crap-tastic weather to finish it all off.
Long days and gym sessions see a need to get a good clean face on the go. It’s impossible to carry a face routine with you, and I find many wipes are harsh and extremely drying on my skin. But the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths are perfect for wiping away the sweat and makeup and leaving a fresh, well moisturizer face. Cetaphil is amazing and super gentle, so of course their wipes are just as good.
The last four are makeup products that I’ve recently added to the stash. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder has been added to my daily routine to finish off a fresh face, followed by perfect brows thanks to my new Anastasia Brow Wizz (yeah…I caved). A quick dab across the lids with the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Tough as Taupe has been giving some really nice everyday colour. Don’t know why I didn’t get my hands on that one sooner. And to finish it all off is the perfect, everyday, me shade of lipstick! Can you marry a lipstick? It’s the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina.
What have you been loving lately??
